Flashmob

First, what is a flashmob?
flash mob  is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then quickly disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment, satire, and artistic expression.

And that is what my Saturday consisted of! Yes, that's right I was a part of a flashmob. At my Dance school (http://studiodacademy.com.au/ ) our old dance teacher/principal for 13years left :(, which was horrible but we are blessed with a New principle and teacher who has had  experience with  Flashmobs so decided that we shall do one.

Over the past couple of month 30 dedicated dancers worked on flashmob in their weekly dance classes, each week working that little bit more harder to create the perfect performance.
On Wednesday 17th of April all 30 dancers ranging from the ages of 7-23 spend the day rehearsing and setting for, what would be the first studio D flashmob. From 10am-3pm that all was filled with setting postions, working with props and going over our dance over and over again. Although we had a lot of fun our muscles definitely felt the hard work we had be putting in. I went straight home and into a relaxing bath.

The Flashmob was scheduled for 12pm Saturday 20th April  but because we are in Australia and that means ofcourse that is the day the weather changes and it rains and I mean rains a lot, so at about 7am we all get a text message saying that  due to the wet weather the flashmob has been postponed. That was the most heart breaking news I had heard all school holidays. A couple of days later we all receive a message announcing  the flashmob is ready to roll on saturday!! And yes, that was the best news I had heard all holidays.

So this morning I rolled out off bed, had my morning coffee, breakfast of eggs and toast, and than if was time to get ready. I wore my beautiful but rather unpractical pair of sequence shorts, purple crop top and of course my studio shirt. And then I was off into  Pitt Street Mall, (well with a quick detour back home because I forgot my Pom poms).
Once we all met up at the Domain it was a quick rehearsal time, then down to the mall we went. Being a performance something had to go wrong, and well it didn't really go wrong just not to plan, there was another group wanting to do a performance at the same time, so we waited....

After waiting around for a good 20mins, trying not to draw attention to ourselves it was show time. I can't even remember how the performance went, as soon as I heard that music my mind turned off and my body just knew what to do. I think we all went alright, not the best but it was the first time we had done anything like this. During the break between performances one dancers had a bit of an accident and we all saw what she eat for breakfast, yep we had ourselves some a chuck up. But no worries just a little restaging and some newspaper and we were good to go.
The second time was alot better, we all knew what to expect and any problems from the first performance were all sorted out, I think Studio D did a great job and I am proud to be apart of that! :)

Till next time.

Bath Time

So today I had 5 hours of dancing and it nearly killed me. It was fun and felt pretty fit after but my muscles were so sore afterwards. Ouch!
Went I got home, lying down unable to move I thought it’d be nice to have a bath to relax all my muscles after a hard day.

To start will I began by running a bath, not to hot, not to cold, just right. While that is going on (because it takes a while) I boil the kettle and make a STRONG cup of chamomile tea, I normally use two tea bags. This cup of tea is not for drinking, but feel free to make one while you are at it, this cup is to be later poured into the bath to help relax. Now once the bath is almost as full as you want it, it’s time to pour in the bubble bath, some people don’t like bubble bath but to me it’s like my little protection when I’m lying in the bath. Don’t freak out if you don’t have any ‘actual bubble bath’ you don’t really need it, tonight I didn’t have any so as my bath was still filling up I pumped a couple of squirts of my Anti-stress body wash and it bubbled right up. Your cup of chamomile tea should be really strong right now so pour it straight into the bath, and take a second to just smell the beautiful aroma of the chamomile inviting you into the beautiful bath. Another thing in which I love to put in my baths especially when I need my body to just relax after a hard day is Epsom salts. Bath Bombs or bath fizzers are also great things to use so shop around and find a one that works well for you, I believe you can buy ones for different reason, such as for sore muscles, for relaxing, for soft skin and so on.
I have read recently but haven’t yet got to try, that to make a relaxing bath you add rose water and coconut milk; this sound so good and I can’t wait to try it next time I have a relaxing pamper night.

I love candles so much, hence the reason I love bring them out on my pamper nights, you don’t need expensive ones, cheap candles do just as good of a job. Tonight I had 4 candles going with no light on and this illuminated the room enough for me to read my book in the bath, but adjust this number to suit you. If using scented try not to use multiple candles with different scents as this may cause a rather unpleasant aroma and even cause a headache and that’s not really what we what. Try changing up the scents depending on the time of year, during summer use beautiful natural fragrance, such as strawberry, coconut or a beautiful citrus candle. During winter experiment with warm, hearty, cosy fragrances like cinnamon, or vanilla or even a mint. Choose your Aroma for the night or even just plain candles and place them in a safe place; somewhere they aren’t going to fall and definitely not where they will set anything a light. Although if they do end up falling into the bath, as long as they don’t fall straight onto you they probably won’t cause any problems just try and avoid it from happening.

Once you bath in also finish running and your candles are set it is time to grab a few supplies.
A large glass of water, this is good just too well you know drink but if you are anything like me this glass of water might stop you from passing out if it gets really hot in the bathroom (which it probably will). If you start feeling hot and bit light headed or dizzy just take a couple of sips and you should be fine.
A book or a magazine would also be a good idea to take in with you, I suggest not a book you have borrowed from a library or a friend just in case anything happens and the book wants to go for a little swim. Some people do like to bring read on their iPads or kindles if so I suggest reading over the bath. At the moment I have a book that I have to read for English and thought what a better time then while relaxing in the bath (I only read about 10 pages, but better than nothing).

I Promise you it is almost time to actually get into the bath, just a couple more things to do.
First, if you are a girl (or a boy I don’t judge) you should really wash all the day’s make-up off first, this will help skin get a complete clean as the steam for the bath will open up the pores and the sweat will clean deep with the skin. Personally I wash my face with my daily face wash first to get all the make-up off and then once over with my exfoliating wash.
Second, I am totally one for locking the door when I go in the bathroom for pretty much any reason but when having a bath I always keep it unlocked. This is just a safety thing; although baths are amazing and relaxing they can be quite high risk. Just simply tell the people you live with you are having a bath and not to come in unless something bad is happening *knock on wood*.
Thirdly, just be careful if you start feeling sick and faint it may be due to the heat make sure you cool off by standing or sitting under some cold running water.

Now you are ready for your bath.

Ps. One more help full hint, if you can never lie Comfortable try a waterproof pillow. You can buy this pillow around but if you don’t have time or money, or just want an easier way here is a tip……
Wrap one of your every pillows up in plastic bags, place the pillow into a bag and tie it up and then place that into a another one (just to be sure you can do it again). And there you go.

PPS.
There was more I wanted to write but thought I was rambling on a little,
so yeah.

Blanket Fort

What I should be doing: Homework
What I am actually doing: Looking at pictures of blanket fort, and planning how to make an awesome one.

Since it is the last week of school, for term 1 (well 2 for us year 12 students) I have almost 0 motivation to do any school work. So, instead of doing homework I started thinking about blanket forts, and how I really really badly want to make one...

Why Blanket forts are awesome:
-They are cosy. Made from blankets and filled my pillow, once you are in you don't want to get out!!!
- It's like having your own little space. Yes, I know your room is your own little space but this is a new place that is filled with only what you choose. No need for the other crap that fill up you room
- Good to share. Although it is extremely cosy and your own little place it is perfect to share, with a good friend or even a lover. *wink*

Things to do with in your blanket fort:
Now the list is actually endless. You can let your imagination run wild of things to do in here.
But here are so ideas.
-Build the fort around a TV and have a marathon of your favourite movies or TV shows. (this may also be done on a laptop if TV can not be used as part of construction.)
- Grab a cup of your favourite warm beverage and sit in the fort reading a good book. Or a not so god book your choice really.
- Sit with your friend and play truth or dare.
- Sit on tumblr or blogger. (blogging is bed in blankets)

- I guess you could do homework in there. If you have to do it you might as well do it in an awesome place...
-Sleep. Filling with pillows and blankets it is a perfect place to have a little shut eye time.
The ideas are endless.

So on my to do list of the holidays, building a blanket fort is definitely on the top of my list.

Ps. These photos aren't mine.

What is it all about??

I know this is sad writing this because no one will read this.. but hey, maybe one day.

At the moment I am really trying to figure out what this blog is going to be about. Will it be a beauty blog? A cooking blog? I wish it was a travel blog. But what I believe will be good is if it just my blog.
By saying that I mean, it will be a little bit of everything. A little beauty, a little cooking, some DIY, some reviews on things, and one day travel.

I am really excited about doing this, making something. Fingers cross I stick to it.
xx

Blog time.

So, today I decided to start a blog...
I'm really not quite sure what that means. I just knew I really wanted to start because they look like a lot of fun and something I could hopefully do well. Knowing full well it will be a lot of hard work to make this blog something other people would like to read, I am here.

So lets go.
